Peter Connell is Mayo Wynne Baxter’s Finance Director and has been working for the firm since August 2009. Peter is responsible for providing financial strategic input to the firm, as well as creating reports and analysis, including profit, working capital and cash flow management.
Peter also ensures compliance with relevant legislation and regulations, including preparation and filing of accounts and returns.
Before joining the firm Peter qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1986, after which he worked for Dominion Insurance where he progressed to Chief Accountant in 1994. He then spent 12 years with Hastings Insurance, where his role evolved from Finance Manager to Managing Director. Peter has held numerous directorships during his illustrious career, including Chairman of Advantage Insurance, Managing Director of Direct Operations at IAG UK Holdings Ltd, and Non-Executive Director at St Mary’s Westwood Educational Trust.
Peter is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales, aPrince 2 Practitioner (Project Management), and Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute.
At work Peter is particularly interested in financial systems, workflow, financing and refinancing opportunities.
