Nicole Humphreys

Nicole studied at the University of Sussex and qualified as a solicitor in 2011. She joined Mayo Wynne Baxter in June 2025, after many years at a business-focused law firm where she headed the employment department.

With a broad range of experience advising both employees and employers, Nicole enjoys the diversity of employment law, and the fact that each new case is a different challenge. She appreciates that her work is shaped by people, business, and the law, and this fast-paced and dynamic field is what keeps her engaged and passionate.

She thrives on helping people and takes immense pride in guiding businesses and individuals through difficult or tricky situations. She enjoys working closely with clients, offering clear pragmatic advice on complex employment issues.

Nicole is known for being approachable, which is vital when dealing with sensitive people-related matters. She is a good listener, showing empathy and building trust while remaining professional and objective. Nicole has a deep understanding of employment law and can explain legal concepts in clear straightforward terms, ensuring clients fully understand their rights, options, and potential risks.

Outside of work, Nicole enjoys country walks, often using her well-loved “Pub Strolls of East and West Sussex” books, usually topped off with a visit to a local pub. She also enjoys cycling (preferably on flat terrain!), cooking for family and friends, and dancing.
