South East law firm Mayo Wynne Baxter is proud to continue its support of the Black Anti-Racism Community Organisation (BARCO), returning for a third consecutive year as a sponsor of the Brighton BASH Carnival.

BARCO, a Sussex-based, Black-led organisation, works to challenge anti-Black racism while celebrating and strengthening Black culture across the region.

Through advocacy, education and community-led initiatives, it supports Black African, Black Caribbean, mixed-heritage and wider African diaspora communities, helping create lasting change.

Now firmly established as a key cultural event on the south coast, the Brighton BASH Carnival brings communities together through music, performance and shared celebration. As part of this year’s programme, Mayo Wynne Baxter will sponsor the Level Stage, helping to create a space for artists, performers and community voices to be seen, heard and celebrated.

The firm’s continued support contributes to BARCO’s wider work across Sussex – including its focus on youth leadership, community engagement, and long-term structural change.

Alongside this, Mayo Wynne Baxter will act as BARCO’s legal partner for 2026/27, strengthening the organisation’s capacity as it continues to grow its programmes and impact.

Sam Dickinson, equality, diversity and inclusion partner at Mayo Wynne Baxter, said: “We’re really pleased to be supporting BARCO for a third consecutive year. The energy, creativity and sense of community the carnival brings to Brighton is something special, and it’s been great to see it grow. BARCO’s work matters and the carnival is a powerful expression of that. We’re proud to play a small part in supporting it and the communities it serves.”

Bud Johnston, co-founder, BARCO, added: “We’re super grateful for the support of Mayo Wynne Baxter over the last couple of years – having them in our corner for advice as well as championing the carnival is comforting. It’s also great to see their employees enjoying and volunteering on the day too. All of these actions help toward the mission, and the collaboration makes us stronger.”
