Good Divorce Week 2022 - Ending the Family Court Crisis

The family team at Mayo Wynne Baxter are all members of Resolution, an organisation of family law professionals who promote a constructive approach to resolving family law issues.

What is Resolution?

Resolution supports its members though training programmes, publications and good practice guides. As Resolution members we adhere to a Code of Conduct and believe a non-confrontational approach can produce a better outcome for separating families and their children.

Each year Resolution campaigns on a range of policy issues one of which is Good Divorce Week. Each year the initiative aims to focus awareness on a live issue in Family law, in 2022 the focus is to highlight the crisis in the Family Courts and raise awareness of all the different ways families can resolve their disputes away from Court where it is of course safe to do so.

The family team at Mayo Wynne Baxter are proud to support Resolutions Good Divorce Week 2022 campaign on 28 November to 02 December 2022.

The Family Courts are overstretched and in crisis, there are substantial backlogs both in terms of dealing with listing Court hearings and dealing with administrative tasks. Despite the best efforts of practitioners and Court staff families are frequently waiting long periods of time to resolve financial matters arising on breakdown of relationships and arrangements for children.

As members of Resolution we assist our clients to resolve family disputes as amicably as possible, our aim is to avoid the cost, delay and stress of Court proceedings where possible.

As part of our commitment to promoting a constructive approach to resolving family law issues our team are trained in alternative dispute resolution methods such as Mediation and Collaborative Law.
