A specialist in litigation and employment Marika worked for Allen Ticehurst for 10 years before the merger with Mayo Wynne Baxter in 2012.
Dealing with many of the legal issues that arise in rural areas under her civil litigation caseload Marika is particularly experienced in claims over rights of way, neighbour disputes and claims for adverse possession.
Marika also has considerable experience in breach of contract cases, representing both defendants and claimants. Whenever possible she resolves disputes via mediation. This often results in more practical and imaginative solutions than anything courts are able to order, as well as saving considerable costs.
On the employment side Marika’s regular clients include software developers, leisure companies and travel firms as well as employees. She advises on everything from contracts and compromise agreements to redundancies and is a member of the Employment Lawyers Association.
Marika is an English Literature graduate from the University of Sussex. After completing a law conversion she trained at a Westminster firm before moving back to Sussex.
Outside work Marika enjoys long country walks with her family and gardening. She is a member of the National Trust.
