Emma van Bunnens
Emma is a family law solicitor specialising in divorce, finances and cases involving children. After completing her training contract at Allen Ticehurst Solicitors in 2004, Emma remained with the firm when it merged with Mayo Wynne Baxter.
With the sensitivity needed to handle difficult situations, Emma resolves disputes over contact arrangements and living arrangements for children and deals with all issues involving children. Emma is a member of resolution and resolves disputes within divorce and ancillary relief (financial) proceedings in a fair and efficient way, again handling such matters in a sensitive manner.
Unlike most family lawyers, Emma does much of her own advocacy in court so clients are represented by an expert who fully understands their situation instead of relying on a separate barrister.
A Law graduate of Sussex University, Emma completed her Legal Practice Course at Guildford Law School in 2002.
Outside work Emma spends most of her time with her young family and loves horse-riding when she gets the chance.
Emma is very keen to offer clients fixed fees in respect of much of her work.
I have worked with Emma whilst on a secondement in the family department. I have found her to be an excellent mentor and role model. Emma is exceptional at diffusing difficult and stressful situations with her cool and calm demeanour. Emma has a rare ability to use her wit to make her clients feel at ease whilst maintaining a professional and thorough approach. Anyone going through the stress of divorce or requiring help with children matters should not hesitate to contact Emma for her expert advice.
I would not hesitate to recommend Emma to any client wanting advice on divorce and matrimonial issues in the local area.
