Matt is a Chambers UK recognised solicitor with over 15 years experience advising clients on all matters relating to estate planning, estate administration and powers of attorney.
Matt is a full member of STEP, an accredited member of The Association of Lifetime Lawyers (formerly SFE), and holds the STEP Diploma in Advanced Will Preparation — which he passed with Distinction. His work has been recognised in the Chambers High Net Worth Guides, where he was named an Associate to Watch in 2022 and later ranked as an Up and Coming Partner in the 2024/25 edition.
Matt enjoys helping clients navigate the often‑complex world of estate planning, Will preparation, Inheritance Tax planning and the administration of estates and trusts. He has supported a wide range of clients over the years — from High and Ultra High Net Worth individuals managing the intricacies of family wealth, business sales or even newly‑won lottery jackpots, to those simply wanting to put their affairs in good order for peace of mind.
Whatever the size of the estate, Matt’s focus remains the same: giving clear, practical advice that makes life easier and more manageable for his clients.
Based primarily in the Crawley, Haywards Heath and Brighton offices and serving the wider Mid‑Sussex community, Matt has built strong working relationships with accountants, independent financial advisers and other professionals. This collaborative approach ensures clients receive a joined‑up, holistic service tailored to their personal circumstances. Matt his head of the firm’s Crawley office and is keen to integrate with and pay back to the community in which we operate and supports local businesses to do the same.
Matt also has a particular passion for supporting clients from the LGBTQ+ community, offering an open, relaxed and non‑judgemental environment where they can access the advice they need with confidence. He is a director of Crawley LGBT, a local Community Interest Company providing safe, inclusive spaces and support for LGBTQ+ people in the area — a role he is proud to contribute to.
Outside of work, Matt is an enthusiastic theatregoer and has seen almost 90 shows in the West End and on tour (and counting!). He also enjoys exploring Sussex’s many vineyards and restaurants, attempting DIY projects with varying degrees of success, and unwinding with a bit of art.
