Marie Stock

Marie is a Partner in the Family Team.

She joined Mayo Wynne Baxter in 2024, having previously worked for a large corporate law firm, where she acted on behalf of high-net-worth individuals. She is passionate about helping people who are going through difficult times, taking time to consider her clients’ concerns and explain legal concepts clearly to ensure that they fully understand their options.

Marie spent her childhood in Papua New Guinea. She won a Scholarship to attend Fettes College, Edinburgh and went on to obtain a Law Degree at King’s College London. She completed her LPC at the College of Law, London and undertook her Training Contract at a prestigious Legal 500 firm in Greater London.

Marie qualified as a solicitor in 2007 and now has over 18 years in practice. She is a member of Resolution.

As a senior member of the Family team, she supports clients with complex legal matters including divorce, financial remedies, separation agreements, pre and post nuptial agreements, child arrangements, cohabitation disputes and injunctive remedies.

She has significant experience of advising clients in divorce matters involving business assets, multiple property ownership, inherited wealth and valuable pension arrangements.

Marie has a keen eye for detail and a tenacious attitude. She recently achieved a clean break for her client in a contentious case involving a long marriage, where the opponent party made a significant claim for ongoing spousal maintenance.

She is committed to providing her clients with clear and pragmatic legal advice.

She serves the following areas: Brighton, Chichester, Lewes, the wider Sussex region and London.

In her spare time, Marie enjoys hiking in the Sussex hills, running, painting, reading, listening to heavy metal music, travelling (South East Asia being a favourite) and spending time with cats.
