Before joining the firm in 2001, Helen obtained a History degree after which she travelled for one year and retrained as a solicitor with a Croydon based firm. The Equality Act 2010 came into force on 1st October 2010. Just to say thank you so much for your brilliant work on our behalf. We were delighted to get the news yesterday as the energy and cost we would have had to expend to continue with our case was something we were not looking forward to. To state the blindingly obvious, we could not have done this without you, so once more, our huge gratitude and appreciation.

We have used Mayo Wynne Baxter as our corporate lawyers for some years and have always found Helen one of the easiest and most professional of the partners to deal with. We recently had a commercial property issue which could have quickly escalated into litigation were it not for Helen's pragmatic, firm and fair approach to all parties resulting in the outcome we were seeking without the time, hassle and expense of going through the courts.

Helen Bell, partner at Mayo Wynne Baxter, in 2010 and this year acted for us on a boundary dispute started by a wealthy neighbour. Previously we had taken advice from lawyers appointed by our insurers, who had been unable to suggest a suitable defence. Mrs Bell immediately provided a watertight legal defence, thereby avoiding a costly court case. Not only did she do this but she also negotiated successfully with our tardy and reluctant insurers so that most of the costs were claimed on our policy. I have no hesitation in recommending her for work in this field of litigation.
