Melanie Minter is the Head of Clinical Negligence at Mayo Wynne Baxter. She has been with the firm for 10 years and is responsible for leading a team of seven specialist lawyers.
A highly experienced clinical negligence specialist, Melanie has conducted all types of claims from low value to multimillion pound claims. Melanie ensures that her team are up-to-date with new law and developments within clinical negligence, with the team achieving Band 1 status with Chambers in 2009.
Before joining the group Melanie qualified as a nurse at St Bartholomew’s Hospital in London, after which she trained, qualified and worked for Norton Rose for 2 years. She then moved to a specialist defendant, clinical negligence practice in London, where she became a Partner. In 1997, Melanie moved to the South Coast to specialise in claimant clinical negligence work.
She is recommended in the Chambers Directory as a ‘Leader in the Field’ of clinical negligence law and is an APIL accredited Senior Litigator. Melanie is also a member of the Solicitors Regulation Authority's Clinical Negligence Accreditation Scheme and a member of the AvMA Referral Panel.
At work Melanie has particular interest in obstetric claims, ranging from cerebral palsy to still births. Outside of work she is a music and sports enthusiast.
