Caroline Godfrey
Associate Solicitor
Caroline Godfrey is an Associate Solicitor within the Clinical Negligence Department. She is based within the Eastbourne office and has been with Mayo Wynne Baxter for seven years.
Caroline works on a wide-ranging caseload, consisting of cases arising from misdiagnoses, negligent surgery and fatal injury, amongst others. She also assists senior members of the team with high value clinical negligence cases arising from catastrophic injuries such as cerebral palsy and acquired adult brain injury.
Caroline is particularly interested in undertaking detailed investigations into quantum and working closely with experts to identify a client’s future needs once issues of liability have been resolved. She describes this as the most rewarding part of her role as she enjoys exploring ways in which a client’s quality of life can be improved through rehabilitation, access to correct professional support and the purchase of specialist equipment.
Before joining the firm, Caroline obtained her Law degree from Leicester University in 2005, and then achieved a distinction in her Legal Practice Course at the College of Law in Guildford. She commenced her training with the firm shortly after, and qualified into the Clinical Negligence Department in March 2009. She is also a member of the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers (APIL)
Outside of work she enjoys swimming, going to the gym and spending time with her husband and young daughter. Much of her spare time is also taken up with planning for and running a local Brownie group.

I'm sure your success with Jenny's Case will add to Mayo Wynne Baxter's formidable reputation with clinical negligence cases. I will always be grateful to you and so will Jenny, once she's old enough to understand it all.

I thought I’d drop you a line to say thank you for all the help that you’ve given me and my family.
From the moment we first spoke I knew that I was dealing with a professional. Over the months I’ve come to realise that there is a lot more to you than that. While you clearly have a lot of knowledge about your subject, you are able to translate that into something that’s easily understood by someone who doesn't. The advice, range of options and potential outcomes was always incredibly clear and easy to understand. Making the complicated simple is not to be underestimated...!
Even though we haven’t met in person I immediately felt at ease dealing with you. I always felt that mine was the only case in your in tray and that personal touch is fantastic; you dealt with my issues in a really authentic manner. You were able to help me translate what I wanted to do into an action plan which gave me the right outcome for my family. I never felt pressured into doing anything that I didn’t feel was right.
Put simply I could not have expected any more from you.
