Paralegal to Training Contract Initiative
Our paralegals and trainee solicitors make an important contribution to the delivery of first class legal services to our clients.
Our aim is to maintain our reputation as a first class training establishment and to make the training contract experience challenging and enjoyable.
Our approach to finding the legal advisers of the future is to recruit via our paralegal to trainee initiative. This is on the basis of a fixed term contract of one year which, subject to business need and individual performance, we would hope leads to the offer of a Training Contract. During the one year fixed term contract, successful candidates will work in one or two departments or offices. Applicants need to be prepared to work in any legal discipline and at any of our offices. If subsequently a Training Contract is achieved, this consists of at least three rotations across any of our legal departments or offices.
Rotations during the fixed term contract and any subsequent Training Contract are determined by reference to the needs of the business and the experience of the particular paralegal or trainee solicitor and, where possible, their individual preferences.
As valued legal advisers the emphasis is on being trained to understand key performance indicators and to develop knowledge and expertise through hands-on experience in dealing with challenging work.
Our paralegals and trainees provide support to our partners and legal advisers in exceeding client expectations and are expected to participate in a variety of business initiatives and, through networking and business development, to build and foster relationships with clients and referrers. The focus is to ensure that they can develop their skills set to provide exceptional service to our clients and to be ambassadors of the business as well as positive role models for colleagues. Trainees also have the opportunity to organise and attend a variety of social functions throughout the year and can also get involved with our charity initiatives.
