Mayo Wynne Baxter has over 200 staff and Partners across our Sussex offices, employing talented individuals as qualified legal professionals, paralegals and within roles in our Practice Support teams, Marketing, HR and Finance.
It is exceptionally important to us that we have the best people in place to provide an outstanding service to our clients and, whether in a client-facing role or not, we recognise that everyone contributes to our business success.
From day one of new recruits joining us, we invest time in training and development with a comprehensive introduction to our business over the first few days. The nicest feedback we get from our new employees is how friendly everyone is and how welcomed they have felt.
We value input as to how we can improve the way we do things and ideas are regularly sought via employee feedback surveys, our annual conference, team meetings and our Staff Liaison Committee.
Reviews take place at 4 weeks and after probation and then at least three times each year, creating the opportunity for individuals to regularly discuss performance and progress with managers. Opportunities for training are available, through on the job/internal training and external training when appropriate and we also have a good record of supporting people through professional qualification. Just recently we have introduced a new way for employees to achieve a qualification, via the apprenticeship route and five employees are about to start qualifications including Paralegal Level 3, Licensed Conveyancer and supervisor.
Our Investors in People Silver accreditation recognises our significant investment in our people and part of our strategy is to continue to find ways to reward those who exceed performance standards and go the extra mile, for example through treats when we exceed targets, regular social events and wellbeing activities, as well as a discretionary bonus scheme.
Whilst many of our roles are full time, we have a number of part time working patterns and we always try to be flexible with such requests where business needs permit.
