Gemma Hope is a Family Law Solicitor for Mayo Wynne Baxter and has been with the practice since 2006.
Based in the Brighton office, Gemma specialises in all aspects of Family Law, including divorce proceedings, drafting pre and post nuptial agreements, dissolution and civil partnerships, advising on cohabitation issues including cohabitation agreements, separation agreements between cohabitants and property rights of cohabitants under Trust Law. She also deals with an expansive range of children issues, such as residency, contact, removal from jurisdiction and parental responsibility.
Before joining the firm Gemma obtained a first class honours in the Family Law elective at Sheffield University, where she also attended the Legal Practice Course at Sheffield University and secured a postgraduate diploma in Legal Practice with a distinction. After leaving academia, Gemma trained with Mayo and Perkins, and upon qualification as a Solicitor joined the Family Law Team in 2006.
At work Gemma has a compassionate interest in finding pragmatic solutions, both short and long term, for people who are experiencing relationship difficulties. As well as this, she focuses on the children’s welfare and needs to ensure resolution during an extremely difficult and sensitive time for the family involved. Gemma is also a member of Resolution.
Outside of work Gemma enjoys most sports, and is a keen member of the firm’s beach volleyball team.
