Alan Larkin is a Partner within the Family Team and has been with Mayo Wynne Baxter since 2008. Alan assists the Head of Family in managing a team of 19, and is specifically responsible for the overall financial performance and targets for the department.
Recognised as a 'leader in the field' of Family Law by Chambers UK, Alan also specialises in finances following a relationship breakdown, whether by separation, divorce, or dissolution of civil partnership.
Before joining the firm, Alan worked with the Merseyside Probation Service and was the Manager of the Toxteth Victims’ Support Scheme between 1983 and 1987. He qualified as a solicitor in 1997 and then worked for asb-law; becoming a partner in 2004, as well as Acting Head of the Family team on two occasions. Alan is also a long-standing member of Resolution (formerly Solicitors’ Family Law Association) where he achieved accreditation as a collaborative lawyer in 2007.
At work Alan is committed to Inheritance Act matters where there are challenges to the financial provision in wills for spouses or children, and contentious probate. Outside of work he enjoys independent cinema, literature and urban cycling.
