Gemma Hope is a Family Law Solicitor for Mayo Wynne Baxter and has been with the practice since 2006.

Gemma specialises in all aspects of Family Law, including dealing with pre and post nuptial/registration agreements, divorce proceedings, civil partnerships and dissolution, advising on cohabitation issues including cohabitation agreements, separation agreements between cohabitants and property rights of cohabitants under Trust Law. Gemma also deals with an expansive range of children issues, such as residency, contact, removal from jurisdiction, adoption, special guardianship and parental responsibility.

Before joining the firm Gemma obtained a first class honours in the Family Law elective at Sheffield University, where she also attended the Legal Practice Course at Sheffield University and secured a postgraduate diploma in Legal Practice with a distinction. After leaving academia Gemma trained with Mayo and Perkins, and upon qualification as a Solicitor joined the Family Law Team in 2006. Gemma is a member of Resolution and a Resolution Accredited Specialist in Advanced Financial Provision and Children Law.

At work Gemma has a compassionate interest in finding pragmatic solutions, both short and long term, for people who are experiencing relationship difficulties. As well as this she always focusses on the welfare of any children involved, to ensure their needs are met during what is often an extremely difficult and sensitive time for the family involved.

Outside of work Gemma enjoys most adventure sports, particularly rock climbing and is a member of the firm’s beach volleyball team.
