Clinical negligence team goes from strength to strength

The Mayo Wynne Baxter clinical negligence team has been elevated to the top rank for the South of England in the latest edition of the prestigious Chambers UK Legal Directory. Mayo Wynne Baxter was the only firm in Sussex and one of only four firms in the whole of the South of England to attain this level.

Compensation for MWB client following delayed diagnosis

Mayo Wynne Baxter recently agreed a compensation package on behalf of one of their clients for the consequences of a six month delay in diagnosis of tuberculosis in the spine. It was accepted by the Defendant NHS Trust that there had been a negligent six month delay in diagnosing the infection. It was, however, denied that the six month delay had made any significant difference to the outcome for our client. It was argued on behalf of the Defendant that the infection was of such a virulent strain and that it was sufficiently resistant to treatment that even if medication had been commenced six months earlier the spinal collapse which our client went on to suffer would have occurred in any event.

Compensation for widow following husband’s tragic death
