Together, Stronger
Mayo Wynne Baxter LLP was formed in 2007 with the merger of Mayo & Perkins and Wynne Baxter. Combining the two practices has made the new firm one of the leading practices in the South East, employing around 250 staff across its seven offices in Sussex, Kent and Surrey.
We take pride in our professional yet friendly and approachable style which is tailored to meet the needs of each client. Our large and ever growing portfolio of commercial and private clients is testament to the quality and range of specialist services and expertise that we are able to deliver.
What makes us different?
Clients expect expertise and today, more than ever, specialisation is essential as the law becomes ever more complex. Because of its size, Mayo Wynne Baxter is able to specialise and yet still provide a full range of legal services. In addition to providing a first class service in the areas of law you might expect, the Firm has developed a number of niche areas of expertise including clinical negligence, French property, professional negligence, defendant litigation, trust law and wealth protection.
Whilst expertise and service are important, it doesn’t fully explain our approach. At Mayo Wynne Baxter we listen. We want to understand your problem or opportunity and deliver a solution in plain English. This may involve us suggesting alternatives or advising against a particular course of action you had in mind. We want to deliver to you a service that will impress you enough to make you want to tell your colleagues, friends and family.
Quality Assurance
Mayo Wynne Baxter is one of only a small number of law firms in England and Wales who have been awarded Lexcel accreditation. Lexcel accreditation is awarded for Legal Excellence, and the standard required to obtain it is very high.
We were also one of the first law firms in the country to gain the Investors in People Award, which recognises our major commitment to staff development and professional training.
Our professional regulator, the Solicitors Regulation Authority, instructs us to carry out intervention work on their behalf in the Sussex area, and this provides a significant endorsement of the quality of our systems and work.
Mayo Wynne Baxter lawyers have memberships of a number of specialist panels. These panel memberships are a badge of excellence. They are proof that our lawyers are committed to their area of law and that the lawyer concerned has met exacting standards of client care and expertise. Memberships include the following Law Society specialist panels:
The Clinical Negligence Panel
The Personal Injury Panel
The Civil and Commercial Mediation Panel
