Chestnut Tree House is Mayo Wynne Baxter’s official charity for 2011 and the Chestnut Tree House Champions atChestnut Tree House the Firm are pulling out all the stops to raise as much money as we can in the £50 Challenge.

Chestnut Tree House is the only children’s hospice in Sussex and cares for children and young adults from 0-19 years of age with progressive life-limiting and life threatening illnesses from all over the county.

Heading up the Chestnut Tree House Champion team myself I feel very passionate about the wonderful work they do at the hospice and they truly make a real difference to the lives of the children and families who visit. However for every life-limited child that Chestnut Tree House is caring for, there is another child somewhere in Sussex that they are not yet reaching due to lack of fund, so all the more reason to support them in every way we can!

Therefore we are going split the challenge into two parts :-

1) Cake Off Competition! This is one to please all the bakers or even better if you are like me all you cake munchers! All the bakers in each office are invited to bake a nice big cake or selection of cakes. All competition cakes will be displayed in each office boardroom, where everyone will get the chance to vote for there favourite cake by donating money to Chestnut Tree House. There will be a winner in each office!

At the end of the day if staff are not feeling sick already everyone will get the chance to take the remaining uneaten cakes home (if there are any) for a further donation to Chestnut Tree House.

2) Silent Auction. All the staff at Mayo Wynne Baxter will be given the chance to bid on some fantastic prizes. Auction items are yet to be confirmed but hot off the press news…one of the auction items will be a paid day off work!! who wouldn’t want that?!

Anyway must dash, got to get my pinny on start baking!
