Mayo Wynne Baxter annual croquet match

The rain held off and the match was on. Bit chilly but playable. Guess who got told off for having heels – yep ME !!!!!!!!    Good job I had the sandally shoes with me!   The heels on my boots were only half an inch – so be warned! First round:

Once everyone had stopped jibber jabbing and started listening to me and “the professional one” the pairs were selected and off we went.

There were lots of whooping, oh-ing, hooraying, screaming (that was Dom and I when we scored a hoop!) and general merriment. The Professional Ones taught us how to be tactical which Dom and I made sure we took on board (didn’t help much tho!). Saw a few serious faces too.

 90 minutes or so later we finished and went in to get our food which was really great and filled a gap!      

 After eating we had a our little presentation.      

 And the winners are ………..drum roll ……………NEIL SORRELL AND SCOTT GAIR. The winners were presented with a bottle of wine each (thanks MWB) and a little trophy magnanimously relinquished by Charles !!!

 And the losers are ………. drum roll …………..   DOMINIQUE AND BURNICE.  The loser got a mini (very mini) table top/desk top ten pin bowling game ‘cos they were rubbish at croquet!!!!

WELL DONE to David and Emma on their 6-0 victory but Katherine and Jade made up for it with their 4-3 (decider) win!!!!!

We all had a great time and look forward to next years event (with LOADS more peeps).    Someone out there must be able to knock Neil and Scott of their podium.   C’mon Charles you can do it.
