Mayo Wynne Baxter LLP is an ambitious, progressive, quality driven and friendly regional law firm. Our Trainees are highly valued and their training is an important aspect of the business. Our aim is to maintain our reputation as a first class training establishment and to make the experience rewarding and enjoyable.
Our training programme ordinarily consists of three eight month rotations in any of the following teams: Family, Corporate, Litigation (including Employment), Clinical Negligence & Personal Injury, Property (Residential and Commercial), Probate, Trusts & Wills. Rotations are determined by reference to the needs of the business, the experience of the particular trainee and, where possible, individual preferences.
As a valued legal adviser you would be trained to understand relevant key performance indicators, to gain insight into effective marketing and develop your knowledge and expertise through hands-on experience in dealing with challenging work.
Trainees have actively run a programme teaching citizenship in a local secondary school in conjunction with the Citizenship Foundation. Trainees run and attend a variety of social functions throughout the year. Prospective Trainees about to start with the firm are invited to relevant events to meet new colleagues and get a feel for the firm.
Our trainees provide support to the Partners and other legal advisers across the firm. They are expected to participate in a variety of business initiatives and, through networking, to build and foster relationships with clients and referrers. The focus is to ensure trainees develop their skills set to provide exceptional service to our clients and the wider community. Trainees are expected to be ambassadors of the firm throughout their time with the firm.
